The latest version of iOS is now available and can be installed on compatible models, bringing with it a number of new features, news.ro notes. The system can be installed on all models starting with the iPhone 8.
At the top of the list of news in iOS 16 is the new lock screen. The screen that appears before unlocking can now be set to a fairly high level. Users can add widgets and change certain components, such as text fonts.
Some applications from Apple have also received new functions that users have been waiting for a long time. This applies to options for editing and canceling messages sent using iMessage or scheduling and canceling emails sent using Apple Mail.
Focus modes can now be activated based on geographic coordinates. For example, work mode can be set to automatically turn on when the user enters the office and turn off when the user leaves the office.
With a simple tap and swipe, you can now grab objects or people from images and drag them into other apps, such as a chat app, to send to someone.
There are a lot of changes in the “small but welcome” category, such as the fact that the battery percentage can again be displayed in the menu on the home screen, or that the Notes app can now automatically convert certain units of measurement.
However, not all of the features that Apple announced over the summer were included in this first final version. Shared iCloud Photo Library, for example, hasn’t been finalized yet and should be implemented via the next update.
