Jeep, the brand known for its SUVs, is rapidly moving to electric traction and will launch four new models in Europe in the coming years. The first will be Avenger, the smallest SUV of the brand, a model that will be produced in Poland and promises autonomy of 400 km.
The presentation of the Avenger will take place on October 17 in Paris, and one of the goals is to attract a younger clientele, especially women, to the brand. Avenger will be produced at the Polish plant in Tychy and will even be exported to Japan and South Korea, but not to the USA and China.
The next two models will be the Wagoner S (a premium electric SUV) and the Recon (a model with very good off-road capabilities), both of which will initially be introduced in the US.
The Recon will be a square model in the style of the Land Rover Defender and will be presented in Europe at the end of 2024.
Wagoner S will become the most expensive electric SUV of the brand, will develop the equivalent of 600 hp. and, at least on paper, will have a range of more than 600 km. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds.
The company does not provide details about the fourth model.
Jeep’s goal is to sell only 100% electric models in Europe by 2030, while the U.S. share will be just 50% this year.
Last year, Jeep sold 127,000 vehicles in Europe, which is more than in 2020. The best year was 2018 with 165,000 units. In the last six years alone, sales of the brand have exceeded 100,000 units.
