In a few days, a week at the most, we will announce a consortium of banks for Hidroelectrica’s listing, Bohdan Badya, president of the company’s management board, said at the DC News event.

“This listing process will be carried out by a reliable consortium with a national and international reputation. We look forward with great interest to institutional investors from Romania participating in this listing process, not only from the perspective of a citizen who prefers to place his savings on the capital market rather than putting them in a bank, but also from the perspective of pension funds available in Romania,” he said.

Unfortunately, he says, Hidroelectrica’s listing is not always visible and completely understandable.

  • The questions we get are: Will you be sold? Will we remain without Hydroelectricity?

“No, “Hydroelectricity” is not for sale, and we are not left without “Hydroelectricity”. The list will allow all Romanians to access Hidroelectrica. This is a company that has grown significantly in recent years. We tried to focus on what the development of the company means. Growth both from the point of view of liquidity and financial indicators, and from the point of view of the investment plan,” said Badea.

  • Unfortunately, I can’t give you much information at this stage. We have entered the zone of communication restrictions, which are quite strict, but very soon we will announce the consortium of banks that will deal with the listing.

“What is happening in the energy market recently is something unprecedented. Energy prices, if we look from the point of view of a production company, help us, but in reality this explosive growth is always accompanied by measures to mitigate this impact,” he also noted.

  • If we talk about energy, it is not just a commodity. It is a public good, and what happens to the energy sector affects all other sectors in one way or another.

“Therefore, it is very important in this period and from the point of view of the listing to have some legislative predictability that would allow us to define the business model, and not create uncertainty in the area of investors,” explained the representative of Hidroelectrica.

The listing will take place in Bucharest, but the shares will not be sold by the state, but by the Property Fund, which owns about 20%.
