The budgetary impact of the new changes in energy and gas prices will amount to 1 billion lei per month, which will be neutralized from the contribution we set, Finance Minister Adrian Cachiu said on Thursday. Energy Minister Virgil Popescu explained the main changes in the scheme, which limits energy and gas prices until August 31, 2023.
Minister of Energy Virgil Popescu:
- “Tonight, we adopted changes to the order 27/2022. Practically, the validity period of the order has been extended from September 1, that is, from today, to August 31, 2023. Practically, the restriction scheme has been extended from April 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023. This is the first change.
- Consumption limits for the population remain unchanged, from 0 to 100 kWh of consumption, the price is 68 monies per kilowatt. Basically, this tariff is for the population that consumes very few kilowatts.
- Between 0 and 300 kilowatt-hours there is a slight variation here. Within the framework of the same ceiling, we are trying to stimulate the population to save. Basically, the price of 80 money is applied for the first 255 kilowatts of this ceiling. The difference between 255 and 300 will be at the negotiated price.
- For the economic environment, 1 lei per kilowatt remains for state institutions.
