Energy Minister Virgil Popescu said that the winter action plan had already been completed and would be sent to the chancellery, and the prime minister announced that the plan would be adopted by the General Council next week.

Referring to the changes that will be made on Thursday to the emergency decree on energy prices, Energy Minister Virgil Popescu said that together with the Ministry of Finance and ANRE, they are going to finalize “the issue of this tax on the entire electrical chain of energy production and sales”, and the final form will be presented tomorrow in the inter-ministerial committee.

Virgil Popescu also touched on the issue of natural gas reserves.

  • “We have approached 73%, we have more than 2.280 billion cubic meters in storage. If I’m not mistaken, the figure we assumed and which we have to report to the European Commission tomorrow, September 1, was 57%. Therefore, we accelerated the pace of gas storage in warehouses with the calculation that we would reach the plan of at least 80% fullness of warehouses,” said the Minister of Energy.
