Transporters demand concrete measures from the Romanian government to support the economy in the next period. “We don’t need explanations about the war in Ukraine, which will keep energy prices high, but interventions to stop the rise of these prices. Otherwise, we will all be bankrupt by winter,” the message reads.

It should be noted that the executive power had 6 months to make a survival plan for this winter, but at the end of the summer we are told that we will have to make do with zero measures against the bankruptcy of the country. From this approach, we understand that this is the desired result: Romania is a failed state. We have been psychologically prepared since 2019 by those who are now in power, repeating this phrase. We are now moving towards exactly this situation, which suggests not only that we will literally die of cold and hunger, but also that Romania may disintegrate according to the rules that any state that declares bankruptcy (failed) must follow. . Either the sovereign debt is assumed with guarantees on all government assets, or the country collapses and is taken over by its neighbors because the failed state can no longer govern itself.

Absolutely all the actions of governments over the last two and a half years lead to this catastrophe, and the war in Ukraine is presented to us as a fatal victim, although the Government itself could have done something to avoid the bankruptcy of the private sector, and then the whole of Romania. Bankruptcies caused by rising gas prices will leave 19 million vulnerable consumers. In fact, we don’t even know how many, because the current government hasn’t even been able to conduct a census to find out how many Romanians are still left in the country.

Together with other UGIR citizens, we will start a petition for the protection of the state. We will once again demand the dismissal of the President of the Competition Council, Bohdan Chiritsa, who once again explained to us that the increase in energy prices is too quickly reflected in the prices for consumers, but we cannot interfere in this market. Companies that produce or provide services such as transport or car repair are also energy consumers, and vulnerability should also be considered in terms of economic disruption.

We demand concrete solutions, and not explanations like those given by the president of the Competition Council, for example, how gas will remain very expensive, and so will the electricity produced on its basis, while there is a war in Ukraine.

The government should have already found a solution in order not to destroy the economy of Romania. We see that they have announced an increase in salaries for state employees, but no one asks the private sector whether they can keep businesses open in the winter under the conditions that have already been announced, so we do not understand what financial calculations they have made. , if we all go bankrupt. Where does the money come from to raise salaries in the state?

The collapse of the economy will be a chain reaction if protection measures are not taken for firms that manufacture and provide services based on high energy consumption. The energy economy that politicians or government officials talk about shows that they either don’t really understand reality or want to bankrupt us all. For example, welding, lighting, and heating are also needed at a car service, and to save electricity would mean not using welding machines anymore, sitting in the dark in the cold. We inform the members of the government of bad news: iron does not stick to shells! Even drivers can’t work online, from home!

Motor carriers did not even receive aid during the pandemic, although their operations were also blocked for a long time. We are now faced with an unprecedented rise in fuel prices, which the Competition Council is ignoring, even though the price of a barrel of oil has fallen far from the period of the initial boom in fuel prices.

The Competition Council continues to ignore the continuing high prices of RCA policies without any justification, and insurers are not even paying compensation. We have repeatedly asked the Competition Council to investigate the creation of cartels in both areas of activity where prices are kept artificially low, but the agency has said that it cannot intervene in any way, as it cannot do in the energy market. or
