The market share of new green cars in Romania in the total volume of car sales reached 20.7% in the first seven months of 2022, almost double compared to the same period last year, when the share was 11.2%, according to data from the Association of Manufacturers and Importers of Automobiles ( APIA), with the advice of Agerpres.

According to market analysis, the number of electric and full hybrid vehicles sold locally from January to July 2022 was 14,485 units, of which 5,560 units (38.1%) are 100% electrified models (BEVs), 2,145 copies (14,8). %) plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) and 6,820 units (47.1%) of the Full Hybrid category.

APIA statistics show that Dacia (with the Spring model) leads the top of the best-selling electric cars – 2,982 units (+900% compared to the first 7 months of 2021), followed by Volkswagen – 458 units. (+24.1%), Tesla (425, +900%), Hyundai (357, +227.5%), Mercedes-Benz (187, +297.9%), Renault (163, +59.8% ), BMW (140, +70.7%), Skoda (130, +132.1%), Peugeot (106, +37.7%) and Fiat (93, +520%).

At the same time, the most complete hybrid cars sold in Romania from January to the end of July were: Toyota – 4,696 units, Hyundai (574), Ford (551), Honda (460), Renault (287). ), Lexus (107), Kia (67), Suzuki (35), Mazda (31) and Subaru (12).

Also in the top sales of plug-in hybrid cars, the first place is occupied by Mercedes-Benz with 422 units sold, followed by Ford with 259 units, BMW (231), Hyundai (225), Volvo (198), Renault (146) , Skoda (106), Jeep (103), Mitsubishi (99) and Volkswagen (87).

As for the July vs. June 2022 green car sales situation, APIA figures show 2,632 units sold compared to 2,455, and a slight decrease in market share from 22.5% to 22%.
