Judge Kathleen St. On Monday, Jude McCormick ordered Twitter to partially grant a request by Musk’s lawyers for documents from 22 Twitter employees they say have information about the company’s analysis of spam accounts, also known as “bots.”

Twitter has already turned over information from 41 data “custodians” as part of the lawsuit, but Musk is now trying to force the company to provide more information about the process of collecting data from users and how it is analyzed.

Judge McCormick’s new ruling is a major victory for the South African billionaire, as she ordered Twitter to hand over documents held by Kayvon Beikpour, the company’s former general manager of consumer affairs.

The Elon Musk/Twitter saga continues

Beikpour joined Twitter in 2018, but was fired in May by the company’s new CEO, Parag Agrawal, after taking over the social network from Jack Dorsey.

Although Musk’s attorneys have requested that several Twitter employees provide the documents they have, the judge granted their request only in Beikpour’s case.

From his position as head of product development at Twitter, Beikpour likely had the exact documents Musk wanted regarding the number of fake Twitter accounts.

Elon Musk motivated his decision to abandon the purchase of Twitter by the fact that its officials did not provide him with the requested information about the number of “spam accounts”, although some analysts believed that this was more of a ploy to get a lower price. than was originally discussed.

On July 13, Twitter executives sued Musk to force him to honor the deal and buy the company. In turn, Musk sued Twitter late last month.
