- “At the end of September we will have a full assessment of the measure that we put in place at Government level, a measure that was very good in the sense that we could all see the impact it had on fuel price regulation.” This was announced by Prime Minister Nikolay Chuke on Wednesday.

Virgil Popescu, on fuel: the price at the gas station has reached the lower price from which the increase began
This was announced by Energy Minister Virgil Popescu at the end of the government meeting last week “the price at the pump reached below the price from which the increase began. From what I saw today, when I passed by the gas station, I saw about 7.70 lei – the price of gasoline, lower than 7.80 as before.”
Referring to the compensatory measure of 50 paise per fuel, the energy minister claims that companies have reduced prices even though it was a voluntary measure.
- “Companies have made access voluntarily, it’s a voluntary measure, and it’s been seen that this partnership between government and industry has worked and prices have come down. And at the moment when the quotations also fell, gas prices also fell,” Popescu said at the end of the government meeting.
He did not want to make other estimates regarding the development of prices in the next period.
“I would not like to make predictions, and no one can make predictions in a very volatile market. I can tell you that only from the analyzes I noticed a decrease in the demand for oil, but it may be short-term, it is impossible to estimate,” said the Minister of Energy.
