Refueling is never fun. And this is largely due to the fact that prices are particularly highand you can continue.

Fuel is still very expensive

Indeed, gas station prices have literally skyrocketed in recent years. And unfortunately, this is likely to continue. Really, fuel prices may well go up in the future due to the price of a barrel of oil, which rose sharply a few days ago. So, according to the Ministry of Eco-Transition as of March 22, the average price of SP95-E10 was 1.8619 euros per liter. The increase of 2.1 euro cents compared to the previous week obviously had a big impact on consumers. And especially those who have to drive to work every day. In addition, the price of diesel fuel, which is the most sold fuel in France, has also increased. At 1.7871 euros per liter, it recorded an increase of 0.8 euro cents compared to the previous week. And unfortunately, this trend is expected to continue in France in the coming months. That will make life difficult for drivers.

The end of the cost of fuel

The evolution of fuel prices is closely related to the price of a barrel of Brent. Last week, a barrel reached $86, up $1.7. This increase is related, in particular, to concerns about Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil infrastructure. Faced with such fluctuations, some distributors have taken steps to ease consumers. In particular, the supermarkets #hyperFrais, GĂ©ant Casino and Casino have extended the operation of fuel at cost until the end of March. This initiative, launched on February 8, allows motorists to refuel without an additional profit margin. However, Leclerc made a different decision and completed this operation. Here’s what the manager says Michel-Edouard Leclercwhich explains that “therefore we have decided to cease operations with fuel at cost and to sell it at a markup of three to four cents per service station.”

The reason is the too high price set by oil refiners, which burdens the finances of distributors.
