Like all manufacturers, Renault will go electric en masse in the coming years. And this is in order to meet the demands of Europe.

Thermal version of Renault 5?

This was announced by the boss of the brand, Luca de Meo, during a large conference held at the beginning of 2021. The latter introduced the Renaulution strategy, but not only that. Indeed, it was on this occasion that the Renault 5 E-Tech concept was unveiled. But only at the beginning of 2021, the diamond firm lifted the curtain on the final version electric city car. Suffice it to say that the latter has won supporters among the specialized press as well as among the public, although it is not yet officially sold. However, one question still remains relevant and is on everyone’s lips: should we believe in the thermal version of the Renault 5 E-Tech? Because so far the new star of the brand is presented only in an electric version. And truth be told, it should continue. But don’t worry, we’ll tell you all about it, which has been the subject of many discussions for months now.

Renault 5, which will remain electric

Unlike its rival Stellantis, which offers new electrified products that can be adapted to gasoline, Renault is strongly betting on the electrification of its range. The new Renault 5 E-Tech is built on an architecture dedicated exclusively to electric power units. Thus, it completely ignores the heat. There is no gasoline engine, not even a hybrid one, in the program of the new star of the manufacturer, which competes with the recently presented Citroën ë-C3. Renault 5 E-Tech should particularly attract customers with its attractive price of up to 25,000 euros, two levels of autonomy, namely 300 or 400 kilometers, and three power levels (90, 120 and 150 horsepower). A complete range for city cars, which, however, will miss out on fast charging in the initial version, which will be launched a little later. These are the first most expensive options that will actually see the light of day.

In a word, Renault 5 E-Tech will not leave room for a thermal version. Its future is electric, and it aims to appeal to fans of green mobility.
