After four years of good and devoted service, It’s time for Audi A3 restylingjust a few weeks after its technical relative, the Volkswagen Golf 8.
As always with Audi’s facelifts, the aesthetic and mechanical changes are minimal, but customers will be able to take comfort in the new and adventurous version that has just been added to the Sportback and sedan versions.
Audi A3 allstreet: ready for adventure?
As mentioned above, the changes are discreet, even very discreet. Even if it is not necessarily visible in the photos, the optics have been revised, with four types of LED signatures to choose from, updated screens, new rims and a radiator grille with a modified structure. In general, if you don’t have “phase 1”, it will be difficult to distinguish this new A3 from the old one.
To discover something new, you have to turn to the A3 allstreet version, which we also find on the little A1 and now extends to its older sister. Technically, this model is 15mm taller than the regular A3 and benefits from different suspension settings. At the same time, it gains 30mm of ground clearance thanks to the larger wheels. The driving seat is also higher.
This time, this A3 allstreet has become a little more recognizable, in particular thanks to different shields, additional protective elements and plastic wheel arches to emphasize the strength of the car. Not enough for true off-roading, but it has the looks.
No more surprises
Inside it status quo, the changes are as minor as the exterior, regardless of the versions. There isn’t much new to get into, apart from a new gear lever design, new air vent treatment, ambient lighting that extends to more elements, two new standard USB-C ports on the back.
It’s otherwise a copy/paste from the older version, and overall it’s no worse because this model is generally successful at this level.
And under the hood? As usual in the Volkswagen group, not all engines start at the same time. So at the beginning you will have a choice, between the 35 TFSI version with a 1.5-liter gasoline unit with a capacity of 150 hp. with an automatic transmission or the 35 TDI version with a 2.0-liter 150 hp diesel, again with an automatic transmission.
Audi A3: the model range will be expanded
You will have to pay with 38,080 euros for the first and 39,980 euros for the second The sedan will cost 565 euros. Audi A3 allstreet 35 TFSI debuts on 39,980 euros.
110PS petrol and 116PS diesel versions will be added to the catalog later, while the plug-in hybrid variants will also be updated, no doubt with some benefits in 100% electric autonomy.
The S3 and RS 3 will also return to the catalog, but in France they will be penalized heavily, in this case €60,000 for the RS 3 and slightly less for the S3.
