After seven years of quality and loyal service and restyling in 2020, the previous generation Peugeot 3008 has finally retired. Last year, the SUV really got a completely new generation.
The first information about the 3008 hybrid
The latter is distinguished by numerous developments, first of all, regarding the design, which is completely changed. The car now has a coupe silhouette and has changed the front end. But that’s not all, because for the first time an SUV becomes 100% electric. Then it is available in several versions, including one that will have a range of up to 700 kilometers. But that’s not all, because other options should also see the light of day. Among them is a plug-in hybrid, and the car is based on the STLA Medium platform, which allows this mechanism. And good news, we already know some information about it, via Soymotor website who seems to be quite well informed on the matter. If it still needs to be confirmed, this option should be displayed total power of 195 horsepower, which is the result of the alliance of its thermal and electric engines. It should also be able to travel up to 85 kilometers in 100% electric mode.
When will the 3008 PHEV be released?
A very interesting value that allows it to position itself 30% higher than the current generation, thus offering more freedom to drivers. For comparison, the new Honda CR-V drives 81 kilometers, and the Toyota RAV4 reaches 75 kilometers on a single charge. However, Volkswagen announced a figure of more than a hundred kilometers in 100% electric mode for the new Tiguan. It’s enough to make opponents break out in a cold sweat. Soymotor also claims very low CO2 emissions for the tri-color plug-in hybrid SUV, around 22 grams per kilometer. Consumption should be displayed at a level of less than 2 liters per 100 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. However, we will still have to wait until the manufacturer confirms the official data, and the reveal of this version should take place a little later this year. So be patient before you find out more while you have to wait for the launch scheduled for the coming months.
Obviously, we’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
