Maserati presents the GranCabrio

Italian car fans are holding their breath, ready to welcome the next Maserati model with the long-awaited announcement of the new Maserati GranCabrio. A big global opening is planned for February 29, as reported by the brand on its social networks. This GranCabrio will share DNA with the GranTurismo, but it will also pioneer as the first electric version of the “discovery” from the venerable Modena firm. Thanks to the 3.0 V6 Nettuno engine with a capacity of 550 hp. The GranCabrio promises to be a force on the road starting from Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, with an excellent top speed of 320 km/h. As you may have guessed, Maserati is also planning an electric version of the GranCabrio called the Folgore. This version promises performance equivalent to the GranTurismo, with three electric motors with a total capacity of 830 hp, works from a powerful battery with a capacity of 92.5 kWh.

A look at Maserati’s future

The Maserati GranCabrio is just the introduction to a series of future models. In 2025, the MC20 Folgore, a fully electric version of the supercar from Modena, will appear on the scene. The move to electric doesn’t end there, as Maserati’s future plans reveal an ambitious all-electric SUV slated for 2027. These plans demonstrate the brand’s firm commitment to electrifying its model range. Yes, times are changing and the future of Maserati seems to be closely related to electrics, and reports indicate that the technology will become standard from 2028. The next Quattroporte, scheduled for this year, will mark a major turning point by going all-electric. The move represents a significant change for the brand, which has long been associated with the haunting roar of its internal combustion engines. Although speculations are rife about the next-generation Maserati Levante, there has been no official confirmation so far.
