
New hybrid city car
Now under the auspices of the Chinese group SAIC, a British manufacturer M.G. is going to conquer Europe again with its new B-segment city car: the The third generation MG3which will make its first outing at the 2024 Geneva Motor Show.
With his The length is 4.11 meters, 1.80 meters wide and 1.50 meters high, all with a wheelbase of 2.57 meters, the MG3 is slightly larger than its rivals: by comparison, the Peugeot 208 II stretches 4.06 meters, while the Renault Clio V has 4.05 meters long. Despite its rather classic design, the new MG3 features an aggressive front fascia equipped with a large air intake, a prominent muzzle, and sculpted side lines. There are LED lights in the front and back, no less seven body colors offered in its color chart: black Pebble Black, white Dover White, gray Cosmic Silver, yellow Pastel Yellow, red Diamond Red, gray Hampstead Gray, as well as blue Como Blue.
MG3 Hybrid+: up to 195 hybrid horsepower
The interior emphasizes technology with a 7-inch digital instrument displayand a 10.25-inch central touch screen, which allows you to control a connected infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is standard air conditioning, a six-speaker audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, four USB ports, rear parking sensors and a rearview camera.
In terms of advanced driver assistance systems, the MG3 has MG Pilot technologywhich includes Lane Keeping Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning and Traffic Jam Assist.
A is hiding under the hood Hybrid + hybrid engine non-rechargeable, which combines a 102bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 136bhp electric motor for a combined output of 195 horsepower. This allows it to demonstrate the best performance in its category, reaching speeds from 0 to 100 km/h 8.0 seconds, and acceleration from 80 to 120 km/h in just 5.0 seconds. MG is already announcing consumption 4.4 l/100 km and broadcasting 100 g/km of CO2according to the WLTP cycle.
Ahead of its spring launch, the MG3 Hybrid+ will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show from February 26 to March 3, 2024.
