In Sweden, Tesla, the American manufacturer of electric cars, is experiencing excitement, with the prospect that The Swedish union Seko plans to disrupt the installation and maintenance of charging stations in the country. The announcement, made earlier this week by Seko president Gabriella Lavecchia, supports the long-running strike by IF Metall, the union representing the interests of Swedish mechanics.
Indeed, as we reported in our columns, the manufacturer’s Swedish mechanics affiliated with IF Metall went on strike, demanding the creation of collective agreement with Tesla. The movement gained significant momentum, to the point that another union mobilized its forces to force Tesla to withdraw.
Gabriella Lavecchia said in a statement that the IF Metall fight “is decisive for the entire Swedish model of collective agreements”thus justifying Seko’s decision to increase pressure on Tesla in solidarity with this union. Seko plans to implement this promotion from March 4unless an agreement on a collective agreement is reached between Tesla and IF Metall by then.

Will Tesla fold?
