This new device was tested for three months several French departments. The latter has been confirmed and you can now get a license on your smartphone. But be careful, you have conditions to be met to make it available in its digital version.

Under what conditions?

Please note that this is not a new driver’s license. This new device just allows you to have your pink card on your smartphone. This can be very useful if you are unintentional forgot my license at home and the police are checking you. To get a license on a smartphone, you need to fill out some conditions.
You must have a national electronic identity card (CNIe), smartphone Android with NFC (Android 8.0 or higher) or a iPhone compatible with iOS 16 and also on the same smartphones, France Identity app.
The most restrictive point remains the national electronic identity card. This is a new ID card (small format). 17 million people took place in France. That’s why most French people don’t still have access to this card. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to obtain a digital version of your driver’s license if you do not have this new ID. And what about the registration document?

Digitization of driver’s licenses is just that first stage. And the government does not stop there, because in the near future, everything can be digitized. It’s the same for insurance certificate.
Returning to the permit, France will become the fifth European country to allow the dematerialization of the pink card. This will allow the minister more effective police checks.
