35 years of passion, horses in the wind

THE February 9, 1989a revolution took place at the Chicago Auto Show: Mazda MX-5, a sports convertible that will mark automotive history. Inspired by the British roadsters of the 1960s, but equipped with modern and reliable technology, the MX-5 won over fans of outdoor driving with its elegant design, light weight and amazing maneuverability.
The MX-5 continued to improve over the years. four generations (called “NA”, “NB”, “NC”, then “ND” for the latter), staying true to its original philosophy based on driving pleasure. Since its launch in 2016, the current fourth-generation Mazda MX-5 continues to attract fans of the model with a soft-top version, as well as an “RF” version with a fastback design and an electric retractable roof system. .
Today, the MX-5 is the best-selling roadster in the world with a very accurate model 1,256,745 approx produced at the Mazda Ujina plant located in Hiroshima, Japan.

Mazda MX-5: a real success

In more detail, the MX-5 was the most successful in North America with a total of 533,301 units (or over 40% of total production) sold under the Mazda Miata name, followed by Europe with 391,503 units sold. No fewer than 225,510 registrations have been registered in Japan for the MX-5, which was dubbed the Mazda Roadster in the domestic market, after being called the Eunos Roadster in its debut.
Mazda MX-5 is going to celebrate its 35th anniversary this year easy restyling and new technologies. In fact, it will introduce new latest-generation LED headlights up front, while the taillights have been slightly redesigned. Inside, we find a new connected infotainment system equipped with an 8.8-inch touchscreen and two USB-C ports.
There’s also a new ‘Track’ mode: designed for those new to the ring, it works alongside the KPC system, the car’s software-controlled seat controls, to help improve cornering stability.

Under the hood, the Mazda MX-5 2024 offers a 1.5 Skyactiv-G engine with a capacity of 132 hp, as well as a 2.0 Skyactiv-G unit with a capacity of 184 hp, equipped as standard with an asymmetric differential of increased friction.
