Ford Puma is the best-selling model in Europe of the American brand. In 2023, it even entered the top 20 best-selling cars in France with 23,253 registrations. Following the recent presentation of the restyling of its big brother, the Kuga, Puma is set to do the same. A restyling that will appear before the appearance of the all-electric Puma in 2024.
We keep the same recipe at Ford
When you have a model you love, why take the risk of completely changing its style. At least in terms of appearance. As you’ve no doubt noticed, we’re not confused by the shapes of this new Puma. It retained its quirky compact SUV styling, which in part made it successful. The brand emblem sits proudly in the center of the radiator grille. We also noticed a new light signature front and rear. The headlights have a “claw” shape that, according to Ford, “enhances the Puma’s presence on the road.” For the ultimate level of refinement, this new Puma will offer ‘Dynamic Matrix LED’ headlights, which will allow you to drive in full beam without disturbing oncoming road users.
The style of this new Puma will change depending on the type of finish you’re going for. In the assortment, you will have a choice between the versions “Titanium”, “Titanium Business”, “ST-Line X” and “ST”.
In total, this Puma will be available in six colors and can be fitted with 17-inch to 19-inch alloy wheels depending on the version.
It’s inside that it happens!
As we mentioned above, the most important changes are inside. Compared to the previous model, the interior of this new Puma no longer has much in common. What immediately catches the eye is the large 12-inch central screen with 5G connectivity. On this screen you will also find Android Auto, Apple Car Play or even Alexa Built-In as standard and wireless. It is equipped with the new generation of the SYNC 4 infotainment system and combines the controls for air conditioning and heated seats. Therefore, the number of physical buttons is less important. However, this is not the only screen present in the cabin. Indeed, this Puma features an all-new customizable digital instrument cluster. In front of this new screen, you also have a new two-spoke steering wheel with a flat top and bottom.
Inside this Puma you will find a place to store your smartphone with integrated induction charging. And for music lovers, a Bang & Olufsen audio system with 10 speakers will be available as an option.
Much more technological
This Puma combines many driver assistance systems. Some will be available in the first configurations, while others will be offered as options. Ford offers, among other things, intelligent lane keeping assistant and lane centering assistance, adaptive cruise control with intelligent speed limiter, perimeter alarm and even a 360° camera for this new Puma. That’s not all, as you have Reverse Brake Assist, which can detect an obstacle during your maneuver and brake accordingly to avoid a collision. A new feature of this Puma that can come in handy around town.
As for the prices of this new Puma, the Titanium version equipped with the smallest engine, namely the 1.0 EcoBoost Hybrid, which develops 125 hp, will be available from 27,490 euros. As for the ST, the sporty version of the Puma, equipped with a 1.0 EcoBoost Hybrid engine with a capacity of 170 hp, it will cost from 38,290 euros.
This new Puma will go into production in early April 2024. Here’s hoping for Ford that this new version will be as successful as the previous versions.
