
Partnership around electric LCVs
Hyundai and Iveco signed an agreement on the creation of a 100% electric light SUV brand Iveco, designed for Europe and based on Global eLCV platform from Hyundai. This new model will complement the model range of light SUVs of the Italian manufacturer along with the famous Iveco Daily.

We believe that our global eLCV platform, combined with Iveco Group’s experience in the European market, will be a transformative force in the LCV market, helping to accelerate Europe’s carbon neutral future.”Ken Ramirez, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Commercial Vehicles and Hydrogen Business at Hyundai Motor Company, said on the occasion.
This is not the first time that Hyundai and Iveco have collaborated: in fact, in March 2022 the two companies started their partnership around hydrogen SUVs thanks to the joint development of the Iveco eDaily FCEV or the Iveco E-Way FCEV city bus.
Iveco and Hyundai: the first model of the eLCV platform
This SUV of the future will transport Iveco brandand will be the first model in Europe based on the new Hyundai Global eLCV platform designed to be equipped 100% electric light SUVsthe total weight of which ranges from 2.5 to 3.5 tons.
This platform combines the latest technologies of battery electric vehicles from Hyundai and is distinguished by its own low floor which facilitates the loading and transportation of goods, while meeting the future needs for electrified SUVs specially developed for the European market.
Under the partnership, Hyundai will manufacture and supply Iveco-branded chassis-cabs for the European market, while Iveco Group will customize and distribute complete vehicles through its normal sales channels. This new Iveco electric SUV, based on the Hyundai Global eLCV platform, will be released soon, by the end2024 year.
Two partners are already meeting with us in Exhibition IAA Transportation 2024which will take place on September 16-22, 2024 in Hannover, Germany.
