Coupes and convertibles no longer smell like holiness in the European Union, manufacturers are rationalizing their range around SUVs available in all forms. Do not worry, BMW continues to bring its 4 Series and its M4 derivative to lifetoday offering them a medium restyling.

Updates for the 4 Series Coupe and Cabriolet

The series 4 family occupied 4 places^d the best-selling BMW in France in 2022 with 4,750 units sold, behind the 1 Series, X1 and X3. Four models are hidden behind this name: 4 Series Coupe, 4 Series Convertible, 4 Series GranCoupé Sedanand, finally, derivatives of the latter, i4 electric sedan. Closely derived from the 3-series family cars, they still offer pure combustion engines without hybridisation, embodied in four- and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. If the two sedans are still young (2022), then the cabriolet and coupe, released in 2020, were waiting for restyling in the middle of their career. Finally, Today, BMW presents these two updated models, both in the “civilian” version of the Series 4 and in the sporty version called the M4. As is often the case with this type of “exercise”, the aesthetic changes are quite minor. The headlights and taillights have been updated and now feature a new light signature, while the front and rear fender designs have been simplified. The grille now features a matte black insert on the 4 Series and horizontal slats on the M Performance version.

Development is everywhere

Aboard, BMW has revised the appearance of its dashboard : the central air vents are new, new materials (glass or metal) are available as an option, as is the new Sensatec upholstery now available. Parking assistance with a rearview camera and autonomous parking is now standard, anti-theft alarm system, new heated seats. The BMW 0S 8.5’s infotainment system has also been updated with new, more intuitive functions (notably for air conditioning controls) and a faster interface that now integrates GPS guidance in augmented reality. BMW also presents two new body colors Cape York (green) and Fire Red (red), as well as three new 19-inch wheel models. under the hood four units previously offered in France are being upgraded : four-cylinder with 184 hp. on gasoline and 190 hp. diesel and six-cylinder with 374 hp. on gasoline and 340 hp. on diesel. The sporty M4 gets its six-cylinder petrol engine up from 510bhp to 530bhp, but loses the rear-wheel drive version to the only full xDrive in the catalogue… So what’s the price for all this? The 4 Series coupe starts at €54,200 for petrol and €59,700 for diesel, the convertible from €61,700 for petrol and €64,700 for diesel. Sports version of the M4carved as a convertible, sells for at least €121,000.

Orders are now open and these “new” 4 Series can already be customized on the BMW website in France.
