There are five finalists in the competition

This is how the new edition of the Brussels Auto Show, which took place from January 15 to 19 and is now called the Brussels Auto Show, ended recently. But that’s not all, because the year has actually just begun, and it has prepared very interesting things for us. Besides, who says returning events also means competitions and trophies of all kinds. Here’s how the WWCOTY judges just decided the category winners for Car of the Year. In total, at least 62 models, divided into five categories, competed in this competition. But then, which cars are the winners of this 2024 edition? The new Volvo EX30 has just been named the best family car of the year, while BMW 5 series and i5 is awarded in the category of the best model over 4.6 meters long. But they are not the only ones who received an award during this competition.

And not for nothing, in the category of the best SUVs, it was the Kia EV9 that won the prize Volkswagen Amarok was recognized as the “best pickup truck” on the market this election. Finally, in the Best Exclusive Car category, the winner was the Aston Martin DB12. But the competition does not end there. Indeed, the 75 female motoring journalists who make up the jury will now have to choose between these five finalists to choose the main winner. The latter will be announced on March 8, on the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day. Marta Garcia, head of the jury, explains that ” voting was difficult due to the extraordinary level of candidates […] All of them passed difficult driving tests, detailed analysis and complex competitive studies. That’s why WWCOTY prices are the benchmark for millions of buyers around the world“.
