An electric car for around €100 a month in France seems like a good deal. This is what the government launched at the beginning of the year to allow the most modest households to purchase an electric car. Manufacturers have also played the game, and many of them today offer several models that qualify for this assistance.

Remember that the vehicle must first be eligible for the environmental bonus, that is, it must be manufactured in Europe in accordance with the new bonus conditions. Added to this is a further help to determine the size of social leasing, which, in total, can give up to €13,000 in subsidy per car.

Conditions for obtaining social leasing

This social leasing is correlated with a basic tax income, which must not exceed 15,400 euros per year per unit. A couple earning €30,800 a year may be eligible for the scheme. And at the same time, the target value has been strengthened: drive more than 8,000 kilometers per year for professional reasons or live more than 15 kilometers from the place of work.
At the same time, around 90,000 requests have been made over several weeks, knowing that only 20,000-25,000 files will be saved, even though the government has already announced that it may be opening several valves to allow more files to be registered and reach 40 000. Renault was one of the first manufacturers to offer several models that fall under social leasing. Here are the affected cars:

• Renault Kangoo E-Tech balance: available for EUR 150/month
• Renault Mégane E-Tech balance: available for EUR 150/month

Other manufacturers are also present

Many cars are suitable for this system, including Stellantis with Peugeot e-208 for €99 per month, Citroën ë-C3 for €54 per month or Fiat 500e for €89 per month.

Hyundai has been offering the Kona for €95 a month for a few days now, while the Volkswagen Group is also offering four matching cars.
