In 2024 Volkswagen Golf will celebrate its 40th anniversary: on this occasion, the Wolfsburg firm will offer a mid-career restyling to the eighth generation of its beloved compact car, released already in 2019, in anticipation of the next appearance of the ninth generation, which should become 100% electric.
After several teasers announcing its arrival in recent weeks, Volkswagen is using its presence at CES 2024 to release the first images Golf GTI restylingstill camouflaged, as well as the first photo of its interior.
Restyled Volkswagen Golf VIII: increase interior design
This first image of the interior of the restyled Volkswagen Golf VIII is an opportunity to learn about it internal developments : firstly, as on other models in the line, Volkswagen reversed its decision to equip the steering wheel with touch control, and now we will see on the restyled Golf VIII classic control buttons on the steering wheelthe use of which will be more practical and ergonomic.
The central touchscreen will also evolve through integration the latest version of the infotainment software on board, but above all, on its bottom, touch control with backlight allowing you to better adjust the volume or even the temperature of the air conditioner in the dark.
Volkswagen integrates ChatGPT into its models
The new restyled Golf will also feature a technological novelty: a talking robot on the basisArtificial Intelligencethanks to’ChatGPT integration to the IDA voice assistant through the Cerence Chat Pro solution. With its help, you can control the infotainment system, navigation and climate control system, get information about the car or even answer more general questions.
Externally, the facelifted Golf featured in these photos still wears significant color camouflage, but confirms to us that the GTI version will still be in the program in its catalog. As in every Volkswagen restyling, the development of events will be restrainedand will mainly focus on front and rear optics, front bumper and rear skirt, with revised styling.
The official presentation of the restyled Volkswagen Golf VIII is expected this month January 2024and its marketing should take place by next spring.
