The price of fuel is still very high at the start of the year, especially as it is trending slightly higher again after a small dip at the end of 2023. However, at the moment, the liter is still relatively reasonable. At least according to the government, which, after all, doesn’t want to pay a €100 fuel check to interested motorists. Indeed, according to the latter, the price at the gas station would not actually be high enough for this. It’s the same story with distributors who explain that they stop advertising operations like fuel, at cost. And it can last for a while.

Very low price

While refueling is rarely enjoyable, it’s now less unpleasant. And it is not for nothing that the price of diesel has even fallen below 1.60 euros. We have not seen this for a long time! And that’s not all, because some gas stations offer even lower prices. This is, for example, the case of the Système U pump located in Marance, department of Charente-Maritime (17). And this is no joke, even if it should make motorists smile.

Good deal

And it is not for nothing that there is now a liter of diesel fuel sold for 1599 euros, which simply makes it the cheapest in France at the moment. In general, we get the best deals mainly in supermarkets, for example, in some stores a liter of unleaded drink is sold for 1742 euros. On average, this fuel costs around €1,802 per liter on a French scale, compared to €1,742 per liter of diesel. E85 remains the most interesting with an average price of 0.928 euros.
