Mazda is preparing a new SUV for release CX-70. The opening date is scheduled for January 30 at 11:00 a.m. The new model was originally expected to be introduced in 2023, but delays pushed its release to early 2024.

At the moment, the SUV appears to be only for the North American audience. Here’s what we know about him.

A large coupe SUV?

If the European public knows CX-60in the United States, the Japanese manufacturer sells CX-90, a large family SUV with 7 or 8 seats. The structure is massive — more than 5.12 m in length!

This one is new CX-70 In all likelihood, it could have intermediate dimensions (between the CX-60 and its 4.75m and CX-90) and, above all, a lower roofline to emphasize its silhouette. Alternatively, the model may be similar to a coupe version CX-90, giving way to sporty design at the expense of practicality.

The design of the front part should basically repeat the lines of the CX-90.

The same engines as the CX-90

According to Carscoops, the Japanese SUV will share the same engines as the larger CX-90.

Two different engine versions six-cylinder in-line 3.3 l with turbocharging Mazda with a 48-volt mild hybrid system will probably be there. At the entry-level CX-90, the engine is developing 280 hp while the Turbo S model achieves 340 hp. We also know that the plug-in hybrid engine (PHEV) from 323 hp will be present Finally, all three versions of the CX-70 will come standard with all-wheel drive.

It is this latest version that meets the requirements of a potential sale with us!
