Cousin of Peugeot 3008, Citroën C5 Aircross and DS 7, Opel Grandland makes a timid journey through France : was sold in 2023 Only 4889 units (on a personal channel), compared to 30,370 Peugeot 3008s, 19,683 C5 Aircrosses and 8,736 DS7s! However, it did better than 2022 (4,318 copies sold), thanks to explosion of its restyling versionwhich modernized it and gave it much more personality than before.

It was the front end that marked the main evolution of this mid-career restyling. Visor, which includes a flat black plastic grille and lights below the same strip, made the Grandland less anonymous in motion. However, to limit costs, the cutout of the old lights in the fenders remained identical to the previous version, which explains the slightly more stretched corners than, for example, on the new Mokka.

Modernized Grandland of 2022

Otherwise, the changes were more concise, even if the taillights were reorganized and the tailgate adopted a new font for its name. Front lights are equipped Intelliux Pixel LED matrix lighting (which automatically adapts to driving and environmental conditions), equipped with 168 LEDs. Indeed, another important change was found in this reconstruction. Grandland received All-digital Pure Panel fixtures. Thus, the buttons gave way to two screens: one 10-inch for the infotainment system in the center of the cabin, the other 12-inch for driving information in front of the driver. As for the equipment, it has become richer more advanced emergency braking systemweak user recognition and Highway Integration Assist, authorization are now integrated semi-autonomous driving on the highway and in traffic jams.

A fourth energy is available

Technology did not develop. Until now, Grandland was offered in a multi-energy range. Opel did not put a line under diesel, and no wonder the 1.5-liter 130-horsepower is still in the catalog. in essenceThe 130-horsepower 1.2L Turbo is still offered with a manual or automatic transmission. in plug-in hybrid (PHEV), the 1.6-liter Turbo is available in a 225-horsepower version or a 300-horsepower all-wheel drive version. So, nothing new under the sun. But a few months ago, Opel announced with great fanfare the launch of the first “hybrid” Grandland.

In fact, this is not a self-charging hybrid, but 48V system which makes it possible to maintain the engine in the most energy-intensive phases (starting, restarting, acceleration, etc.). In this configuration, the 1.2-liter Turbo gains 6 horsepower and now offers 136 horsepower. Its price? Just announced: expect €40,200, slightly more expensive than the petrol version with automatic transmission (€38,700). Orders are now open and can be set up on the Opel France website.
