For several decades, technical inspection has been mandatory for all passenger cars, as well as utility vehicles. The goal? Check that vehicles are in good condition and meet current standards so they can continue to move. If it is not, then it will be necessary make a return visite, sometimes during the day if you want to continue driving the car. Over the years, the criteria have increased and, above all, the complexity has increased, while new reforms have seen the light of day. And this is not the end.
Inspection is theoretically mandatory for all cars. But there are models exempt from any checks! https://t.co/fLJLrlczh5

New changes
And it is not for nothing that the technical inspection will undergo some changes this year. But what is it about? Well, actually, it’s not much of a surprise. And for good reason, from April next year, all two-wheeled vehicles, like scooters and motorcycles, will also have to pass the test. But that’s not all, because it also applies to unlicensed cars that have been exempt until now. Thus, everything light and heavy ATVs will affect this revised MOT. And there will be a lot of gearboxes, like on classic cars.
What are the rules?
But will it affect you? Yes, if your car was registered before January 1, 2017. If this was done before December 31, 2019, the first inspection must be carried out no later than 2025. In fact, as with cars, the first technical inspection must be carried out four years after the first registration. It must then be carried out every two years, as for all other vehicles on the road.
