But a few months ago, the government announced the introduction of a new measure. Thus, from January 1 of the following year, a minor speeding of less than 5 km/h will no longer be punished by the removal of points. So the state kept its promise as the idea finally went into effect yesterday morning. Very good news for motorists who will be able to relieve a little pressure behind the wheel. But be careful, because small excesses will always be punished with a fine. The latter fluctuates as follows from 45 to 135 euros depending on the type of track.

Not everyone agrees

This measure has already been welcomed by drivers who are a little more confident on the road. But that doesn’t satisfy some who fear the increase road accidents. Some associations against road violence have condemned the alarming change of direction by the government. For them, “this is a bad signal for motorists who will drive faster.” However, not sure that 5km/h really makes a big difference in the number of accidents, but the numbers will show that in a bit.
