Why don’t you get a fuel check at the beginning of the year? Auto Plus news in your smartphone Auto Plus news in your inbox

As you are no doubt aware, fuel prices in France are still particularly high. And this, to tell the truth, has been going on for a long time, since it started with the beginning of the war in Ukraine, a little more than two years ago. And it, unfortunately, did not end Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as well as a reduction in global oil production to keep tariffs high. Not to mention the demand, which is still very high, especially during the school holidays. But, strangely enough, gas station prices have dropped very slightly in recent weeks.

No fuel

A few months ago, the government announced the introduction of a €100 fuel voucher for employees. The latter would stand out as the last to be listed and would be intended for the most modest, therefore depending on the conditions of income. But if you’re worried, you won’t actually get anything at the beginning of the year, and the reason is simple. Actually, the Minister of Economy Bruno Le Maire announced that the fuel check would not actually be paid at the beginning of the year. But what is the reason?

The price is too low

The latter noted that if gas station prices do not rise, “there will be no system.” And it is the government that believes that fuel is not yet so expensive to justify the implementation of this measure. The minister explains that “if tomorrow there is a crisis, oil prices explode and prices at gas stations approach two euros, I will launch a fuel compensation system for workers.” […] Get close to 2 euros, it can be 1.95 euros. It’s when people tell us they can’t go to work anymore.”
