All automakers want to compete with Tesla’s successful models in the electric car market. The biggest computer and electronics brands are also participating Xiaomi in 2021 announced its intention to become a car manufacturer, investing almost 1.3 billion euros to achieve its goals.

The Chinese giant has just introduced the first model in its range: the Xiaomi SU7. If no information has yet been received about a possible sale in Europe, we can imagine that this model, with its impressive spec sheet, was not designed to stay only in the Asian market. Then there is the question of the environmental bonus in our regions…

There is little chance to benefit from the environmental bonus

In 2024, the conditions for receiving benefits environmental bonus become much tougher: in fact, this is what the French government wants prefer models made in France and Europeand now takes into account the “environmental assessment” calculated for the entire production cycle of an electric car.

The Ministry of Environmental Transition has recently published the list of vehicles eligible for the environmental bonus in 2024, and it includes only about sixty models, all made in France or Europe. In addition, the new Chinese electric sedan should enter the Asian market by the spring of 2024. If it will be launched in Europe, it will not be before the end of 2024 or even 2025: until then the rules of the environmental bonus will apply. time to change… Indeed, with the advent of more affordable electric models, the government may soon require reduce the size of the environmental allowance or even cancel itas it was recently in Germany, at the height of the financial crisis.

Xiaomi SU7: up to 578 hp and 800 km of autonomy

Xiaomi hit hard by introducing its Tesla Model S competitor : The SU7 is equipped with numerous technological equipment and an autonomous driving system called Xiaomi Pilot, not to mention the many screens on board. We find a 7.1-inch digital dashboard, a large 16.1-inch central touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, not to mention a 56-inch augmented reality head-up display.

Under the hood, we find three versions that are electric motors, despite their unusual name: the HyperEngine V6 engine develops 299 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, the HyperEngine V6s version offers 374 horsepower and 500 Nm, and the most powerful model is called the HyperEngine. V8, with power 578 horsepower with a maximum torque of 635 Nm.. Enough to swallow Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.78 seconds.

The assembly is powered by a CTB (cell-to-body) battery that includes LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) cells in a dual-capacity chassis. 73.6 and 101 kWhoffering range autonomy respectively from 668 to 800 kilometers, according to China’s CLTC cycle. Thanks to the 800-volt architecture, the ultra-fast charging station will restore 220 km of autonomy in 5 minutes and 510 km in 15 minutes.
