Pedestrian new year
Suffice it to say that it is best to avoid traveling to Paris by car. And this will be especially relevant during the New Year. And it is not for nothing that the town hall indicates that the entire center of the capital will be there completely pedestrian. This means that the first four districts will be closed to cars, from 10:00 to 24:00 on December 31. This event runs as part of Paris Breathe, but will last longer, while the rest of the year it usually ends at 6pm on Sundays. But other areas will also suffer.
Better enjoy yourself
And it is not for nothing that Republic Square will also become a pedestrian area, just like the square embankments of the Louvre and the Tuileries and also on Place Chatelet at the same time. According to the city hall of Paris, this measure was taken “to mark the transition to the new year, so that pedestrians can fully enjoy the area, as it happens on the Champs-Élysées.” Not sure motorists see things the same way though…
