We waited for several weeks, the government showed, on December 14, the first list of electric vehicles eligible for the environmental bonus in 2024. A list can be found in our dedicated article, and models no longer affected can be found here.

Remember that the government has decided to revise the contours of the bonus rules for 2024, including more precise, even protectionist, criteria.

What does the new environmental bonus say?

This new version of the environmental bonus lies in its focus on vehicles with the best carbon footprint.

In this way, various environmental criteria are taken into account, such as the materials used, the type of battery, the energy consumption of the factory and the impact of vehicles. About 65% of electric cars sold in France are eligible for the new bonus.

Peugeot won the jackpot

The eligibility of a vehicle for the state premium is linked to three criteria: the price of the vehicle, which must be less than 47,000 euros, and its weight is less than 2.4 tons, to which a new criterion, the environmental score, is added in 2024, as mentioned above.

As a result, the Peugeot e-208, e-2008, e-308 sedan and SW, and the upcoming e-3008, e-Traveller and e-Rifter will all receive an environmental bonus.

Be careful, however, a small nuance about the future Peugeot e-3008 will definitely be. Indeed, if the basic version will be entitled to an environmental bonus, higher-end models will undoubtedly exceed the €47,000 threshold. Therefore, not all models will receive a bonus. However, let’s wait until we have the price list for the new Peugeot e-3008, which should be released soon.
