Known for its electric vehicles and the large Mifa 9 minivan, Maxus is now expanding its offer to SUVs. One must be careful not to confuse the newcomer eUniq 6 with the Hyundai IONIQ 6, the consonance between the two models is very close. However, it is impossible to confuse ultra-profile Korean sedan with the arrival of the Chinese SUV. This one is quite substantial at 4.74m long. For comparison, in the starting blocks it is 16 cm more than the Volkswagen ID.4 and 27 more than the new Renault Scenic E-Tech.
The design is quite fluid, without any individuality, but is nevertheless modern and meets modern standards, with a cross-head and full Maxus lettering. A subsidiary brand of MG in the SAIC groupthis new model doesn’t have to cannibalize the existing MG, so its dimensions are significantly larger than the Marvel-R.
All options
The external dimensions of the board ensure the convenience of living, especially with a giant trunk for 754 liters. Again, the presentation is clean and modern, with a vertical central screen for connected multimedia (CarPlay and Android Auto) and digital devices. The offer has only one trim level, very complete in terms of equipment, as it is offered as standard heated leather seats, panoramic sunroofa place for wireless charging of smartphones and a number of driver assistance systems (automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise controlblind spot detection system, etc.).
Soon in France?
By all logic, this new eUniq 6 will be sold in Francesuch as the Mifa 9 minivan, the T90 pickup and the eDeliver6 utilities, eDeliver7 and eDeliver9. The brand is about to make a big arrival in France, but first with the T90 and the eDeliver6 and eDeliver9. We’ll have to wait a little longer before seeing this big SUV orders have just started from our Belgian neighbors.
Priced at €39,990, it will be in direct competition with the aforementioned Volkswagen and Renault. Its performance is also very similar, as it is equipped with a 177 hp engine that allows it to accelerate to 100 km/h in 10.5 seconds. On the other hand, we would expect slightly more autonomy from a powerful 70 kWh battery, announced at 354 km WLTP, which charges from 30 to 80% in 35 minutes. Assembled in Wuxi, near Shanghai, it will not be eligible for the environmental bonus in France, taking into account the new regulations in force.
