Many motorists find it increasingly difficult to refuel. And for good reason,Prices for gasoline and diesel fuel still remains very high despite the slight decline recorded in recent weeks. Especially since the latter is not expected to last and prices at gas stations are expected to rise again. In addition, advertising operations introduced by distributors may also end as early as next January. Suffice it to say that this should greatly complicate the lives of many motorists forced to take their car every day.
Europe has agreed to end the heat engine by 2035. However, the fuel tax is an important source of revenue for the French state. https://t.co/M17WH4kOC3

The contested measure
But the state wants to help some by establishing a new fuel check worth 100 euros. About 1.6 million employees will receive the latter, depending on income conditions. A measure that is strongly contestedunion of 40 million motorists. Its delegate-general, Pierre Chassère, spoke at the RMC, confirming that “this fuel inspection will be aimed at workers. Pensioners, mothers, they have nothing. To touch it, you have to work. We stigmatize. And these are not all employees, but only 60% of those who work. So 40% work, but continue to pay for others.”
Another idea
But what should be done to better help motorists? According to the organization, it would be ideal reduce VAT, which the government has always refused. For Pierre Chasseur, “the correct solution is a complete revision of taxation. Since 2012, we have had the same problem (…) Because we have a VAT of 20%, which increases the phenomenon of rising fuel prices (…) Let’s reduce VAT to 5.5%. We will be below €1.50/l and the French will be happy.”
