Speeding is common on the roads, especially after the end of the first block, as stated in Traffic safety. Which may seem surprising, given that the number of radars has been steadily increasing for several years. This is expected to continue over time as the government looks to install even more, including private radar cars and turrets. The goal? Track the smallest deviations, but also prevent speeding.

A winning combination
But all this technological arsenal is sometimes not enough to prevent certain drivers from driving fast. And the case of the day confirms this to us once again, which we will tell you about. This story happened in the Atlantic Loire, or rather near the town of Poisvilliers. Then at 4:30 p.m. this Saturday, December 9, gendarmes of the motorized platoon are carrying out a control on the RN154 road. Suddenly, they see a black Ferrari 458 Spider approaching, speeding at 153 km/h in a section limited to 110 km/h. But the matter does not end there.
Numerous offenses
In fact, the driver, a 37-year-old business manager, refused to stop and fled, accelerating. Police were unable to catch the driver, but found him a few days later. And this is thanks to a call from local residents who were surprised to see such a car parked on the street. The driver was detained and positive test result for cannabis, and he will be tried in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, his car was impounded and his driver’s license revoked.
