As you no doubt know if you read the Auto-Plus columns regularly, the European Union wants to tighten the screws on pollution and plans to ban the sale of hot cars. The measure, which will take effect on January 1, will apply to all manufacturers except those that sell very few cars. For others, there will be no choice, they will have to switch to electrification sooner or later. And if some are already significantly ahead, others are a little less, but slowly catching up.

New SUV

Nissan, for its part, will pick up the pace, while the firm currently offers both the Leaf and the Ariya. But this is not enough for the manufacturer, which is preparing to develop its catalog even further. For this purpose, he plans, in particular, to open a target the new generation of its Qashqai, which will be equipped with a 100% electric motor. At the moment, we know very little about this new version, which will significantly change the drivetrain to better meet stricter environmental standards. But you’ll have to be a little more patient.

what is the price?

Obviously, we’re expecting SUV prices to skyrocket when it goes electric. But in reality it is not so. And it is not for nothing that the representative of the brand noted that this version will not be available not more expensive than the thermal model. But then what should we expect? Well, we’ll probably have to expect a price below €40,000, even if that remains to be confirmed in the coming months.
