Speeding is one of the most common violations on the road. After all, we’ve all driven too fast because we were in a hurry or simply because we didn’t think to check our speedometer. Except that with the increasing number of radars of all kinds, it’s now increasingly difficult to slip through the cracks. And unfortunately, many of us have already paid the price. But it is true that some clearly abuse it, as we often see in our columns. And this is the case again in our story of the day.

Two soldiers were detained

The last one took place on Sunday, December 10, in the Ossau Valley, to be exact in the town of Bille, on the RD934. At 16:40, the police check the speed, as it often happens on the roads. Everything is going well, when suddenly they see a Ford Fiesta driving at high speed. And it is not for nothing that they are the last to shine 179 km/h instead of 80 km/h normative. Then the police stopped the car without incident. And what was their surprise when they found on board two young soldiers who were returning to their regiment in Po.

No leniency

Two young people, a man and a woman, tested negative for alcohol and drugs. However, there is no question of the police being lenient towards the driver. Actually, he saw the last one himself withdraw driver’s license immediately when his car was locked. It remains unknown whether the young man will have to explain himself in court or not, and he will not be able to get behind the wheel in the near future…
