No more windshield sticker
From April 1, 2024, the green sticker will no longer be mandatory on the windshield of cars. According to the government, ” the physical nature of these documents presented disadvantages, such as the risk of a fine from the police if you forgot to renew the green butterfly on the windscreen, even if the driver was well insured. In addition, printing and sending green cards is a significant environmental cost of almost 1200 tons of CO2 per year“.
Insurance remains mandatory
In the event of an inspection, the police will be able to directly consult with computerized register of insured vehicles (FVA). Actually, it will always be mandatory to insure your car, as it already is. But that’s not all, because the government also wants to deal with driver’s licenses, which will soon be dematerialized and can be presented directly from a smartphone in case of verification. According to the state, ” this measure will also improve law enforcement fight against document fraud and failure to insure vehicles during inspections“.
