Honda gave us a great example a few years ago when it unveiled a concept at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show. It’s called the Honda WOW, WOW stands for “Wonderful Wagon with an Open Heart.”
It’s a small minivan that will surely leave you speechless, to say the least, not with its edgy design, but rather with its practicality and his vocation is to comfortably transport petsespecially dogs and cats.
The favorite car of your dogs and cats
In 2005, Honda envisioned a very spacious interior capable of comfortably transporting four people and several animals, rather than in a traditional transport box, but in a special compartment built into the car.
The compartment can be placed in front of the rear passengers and can also be removed to provide a bit more legroom if needed.
Another solution, if you have several animals, is also to use a special space built into the dashboard. From the images, we quickly see that from a security point of view this does not look optimal, but from a purely practical point of view it becomes clear that the idea is quite brilliant.
A concept without a future
Already in 2005, manufacturers were looking for new solutions to make their cars more “eco-responsible”. That’s why Honda used natural fibers and lots of wood for upholstery, even inside the transport cage designed for cats and dogs.
The car was also built with a low enough center of gravity that animals could easily climb aboard. WOW has special ventilation and a central passage, which makes it easier for dogs to move around the car.
This concept had no future, and these decisions were not actually made in the future production cars that produced themeven if it would allow Honda to provide a little more of its accessories catalog.
