
After the announcement at the last Tokyo Motor Show with the presentation of the concept car of the same name, the Fourth generation Suzuki Swift now its production version is presented, which will be released in Europe in 2024 with a hybrid engine.
The Japanese city car, launched in 2004, continues its busy career that lasts more than 9 million copies sold in 169 countries of the world. The styling of the production version is very close to the concept presented in Tokyo, except for the rear skirt and fog lights, which, however, should be found on a possible sportier version.
Suzuki Swift IV: modernized style
The design of the fourth generation Suzuki Swift develops smoothly: it is inspired by the previous opus, offering more modern and assertive lines. We find LED headlights with an L-shaped LED light signature, more pronounced side lines, and revised taillights and rear bumper. Nine body colors planned within the palette of the new Swift, which can be associated with a black roof for four of them.
The interior was completely revised, with a more attractive appearance than today. There we find a big one 9-inch touch screen floating in the center of the dashboard, controlling the connected infotainment system, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as satin gray trim inserts. The instrument cluster still has arrow gauges with a digital display in the center.
Hybrid engine
Under the hood of the new Suzuki Swift we find a 3 cylinder gasoline engine The Z12E is equipped with 12V hybrid system of SHVSwhich develops strength 82 horsepower for 110 Nm of torque. It promises lower fuel consumption and emissions, as well as better response and performance. Swift will also be able to get the system all-wheel drive Suzuki AllGrip Auto.
On the technology side, we will find a lot safety and driver assistance systems : active emergency braking DSBS II, lane keeping system, driver attention control system, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, sign reading, blind spot detection, reverse traffic warning and eCall emergency call system.
The release of the new Suzuki Swift is expected for spring 2024 in Europe, and in Japan, sales will begin on December 13, 2023. Prices for France will be known later when orders are opened in our market.
