THE recall campaigns, does it remind you of something? These are initiatives organized by manufacturers that recall one or more models due to a serious problem. The latter can endanger vehicle passengers or other road users, but can also damage the vehicle itself. In all cases, the process is the same, and the car must be repaired in a company workshop, of course, at the expense of the latter. And no manufacturer spares, even the most elite. But today this type of campaign is of concern to Opel.

Risk of corrosion

But then what is the problem? Well, the Grandland X itself is the subject of a large-scale recall campaign due to a problem that may seem minor, but actually isn’t. And it is not for nothing that there is an SUV resulting from the collaboration with the former PSA group corrosion concerns. The manufacturer explains that water can penetrate between the compartment in which the traction battery is located and the armature of the latter. The rust protection normally applied to this location will actually be insufficient. And this can lead to the risk of rusting or even catching fire in the worst case scenario.

A big reminder

Suffice it to say that the owners are interested in going to the workshop to repair the car. No less than 2381 copies will be affected in France because it was manufactured between July 2, 2019 and January 27, 2023. Mechanics will simply apply an anti-corrosion product to the relevant area, which should not immobilize the car for too long. Of course, all this is done at the manufacturer’s expense, without prepayment.
