As you probably know, if you regularly read the Auto-Plus columns, hot cars are living up to their last years. And it is not for nothing that the European Union has decided that all manufacturers will have to sell only electric models from 2035 across the continent. Although there will be some exceptions, they will only apply to brands that sell less than 1000 cars per year. Suffice it to say that there aren’t very many of them. Others will have to follow this measure, although it is strongly criticized by most managers and motorists.
Keeping Geneva’s DNA alive, GIMS Qatar truly felt like a home away from home. The red carpets and brand name boards are reminiscent of Geneva, creating a cozy and familiar atmosphere even in Doha.#GIMSQatar23 #zhenevomotorshow #gimsswiss pic.twitter.com/8CcoNleTTd

Multiple launches
More and more manufacturers are interested in very affordable models, the price of which does not exceed 25,000 euros. We’re thinking Renault with its R5, which will end up costing more than expected, or even Volkswagen. But the Stellantis group does not stand aside. As such, it has just unveiled the Citroën ë-C3, inspired by the Oli concept car. But the French group has no intention of stopping there. In fact, it’s reportedly preparing no less than seven new very affordable small cars for the coming years.
New platform
At the moment, we still know very little about these vehicles, but one thing is almost certain: they will all be based on The STLA platform developed by the Stellantis group. The latter is available in several versions, and undoubtedly the Small will be chosen for the company’s next budget cars. An electric Panda is rumored to be in the works, as well as a sub-€25,000 city car from Opel. But nothing has been officially announced yet.
