
Popular among motorists, petrol models still have some fuel budget concerns. Auto Plus selected for you the most sober, but reliable, and noted those that turned out to be gluttonous.
Nissan Qashqai “2” (1.6 DIG-T 163 hp – 7.4 l/100 km)

Qasqhai “2” made a leap forward compared to the old one: less “cheap” coverage, better reliability in diesel and gasoline… In addition to 1.2, although sober and common, but with defective segmentation (excess oil consumption). Much stronger and even less voracious, 1.6 DIG-T takes performance to a whole new level. With Acenta, we get the benefits of a very complete equipment (dual-zone air conditioning, 17” aluminum wheels, front/rear radars, etc.). More common, and therefore similarly priced, the Connect Edition adds driver aids (sign reading, lane departure warning) and a panoramic sunroof. But be careful with the top-of-the-range Tekna: its 19-inch rims increase consumption (+ 0.2 l/100 km) and reduce performance.
Volkswagen Tiguan “2” (1.4 TSI 125 hp – 7.6 l/100 km)
Saw a Sound (2018, 124,000 km) for 17,990 euros
with his amazing flexibility and beautiful sobriety, this entry-level unit does a much better job of holding its own under the hood from Tiguan. As a bonus, it turns out to be very reliable. It’s just a shame you’ll have to wait until 2018 to get access a different finish than the entry-level Trendline hook. Note that the 150 hp version linked to the DSG6 gearbox is more greedy, despite the cylinder deactivation system.
Models to avoid
Dacia Duster (1.2 TCe 125 hp – 8.3 l/100 km): Duster may be one of the smallest in the segment, it shows great appetite with a (fragile) 1.2 TCe. In the 4×4 version, the average consumption even approaches 9 l/100 km…
Peugeot 3008 (1.6 VTi 120 hp – 8.9 l/100 km): The 1.6 VTi that powered the first 3008 until early 2015 is a very classic unit. Not very lively, prone to expensive breakdowns (distribution, cylinder head), and also prone to drunkenness.
