Ferrari celebrates its victory at Le Mans in a very special way Auto Plus news in your smartphone Auto Plus news in your inbox

June 11 Ferrari won the 24 Hours of Le Mans almost 60 years after its last victory ! A consecration for the Italian team, who had not won the precious ticket since 1965, at that time in a 275 LM (for Le Mans, of course). To celebrate this feat, the manufacturer is offering a privileged few the opportunity to indulge themselves a copy of the winning 499P…with even improved performance! This “client” version is aptly named 499P Modified. Indeed, it received several modifications compared to the car that took victory in Sart. Improvements that make it even more effective since they can pass except for the technical regulation for the endurance category in which a racing car is placed.

A horse that needs to be tamed

The main difference is in the maximum power: 870 horsepower against “only” 680 in the official car. Power that’s always just a Push-to-Pass button away. 163 extra horsepower for a few seconds to facilitate overtaking. On the other hand, an electric motor with a capacity of 272 hp. can support the V6 hybrid from the lowest speeds, whereas in a racing car it can only legally start from 190 km/h. Therefore, it is better to have some knowledge of piloting before getting behind the wheel! But also a certain financial profit or good life insurance, because a beauty (or a monster?) is not cheap…

Selected buyers

Selected buyers Ferrari – yes, this is what happens with the Italian brand – you will have to pay a modest sum of 5.6 million euros to afford this wonderful toythe production of which will obviously be severely limited. Even if it means paying in Bitcoin. And there is no question of doing anything about it! The car will be reserved for several track days a year around the world. Ferrari offers all technical and logistical support for these trips on the track for two years. Therefore, you are unlikely to meet such a person on the road.
