Over the years, Smart has sold two legendary models, the ForTwo and the ForFour, first with heat engines and then only 100% electric. City cars, whose sales plummeted in the final moments of their marketing, to the point that the manufacturer almost disappeared before being rescued by the Chinese group Geely. Today, the firm is doing well as it sells the new #1 Smart electric SUV and recently lifted the curtain on its #3. But it is not necessary to stop at the achieved manufacturer, as other models are also planned.
There is an exception to the end of sales of diesel cars in 2035, voted by the European Parliament: luxury cars (Ferrari, etc.). Of course, there are not many of them, so the emissions will be limited, but for the symbol and social justice, it will be necessary to return pic.twitter.com/6gPS9lc6ZE

Electric city car
Fans of Smart ForTwo can rejoice: lelectric city car the pocket will have a replacement called Smart #2. Anyway, that’s what Smart CEO Tong Xiangbei announced at a recent event in China. The latter will be built on a new platform developed by a joint venture between Geely and Mercedes-Benz, which may also become the basis for other Smart models. Little is known about the new Smart #2 at the moment, but we do know that it will be 100% electric and that it will be manufactured in China. The start of sales is planned for the end of 2025 or the beginning of 2026.
Several versions
We’ll still have to wait a few months to find out more about new Smart #2, and in particular for its price, which should undoubtedly be slightly higher than the previous version. Undoubtedly, several options should be offered, but again, the mystery remains unsolved. The date when this new item in the catalog has not yet been officially announced by the manufacturer, but we will undoubtedly have to count on the presentation next year.
