A puncture can happen at any time, and even on a bicycle! That’s why SMART Tire companyan American company located in Los Angeles, imagined METL : A puncture resistant tire airless, designed for bicycles and scooters.
The SMART Tire Company is bringing a true revolution to the bicycle and other mobility industry, a product currently reserved for the lucky few who participated in their crowdfunding campaign before being sold on a larger scale.
METL: revolutionary tire with puncture protection
Awarded two Awards for innovation at CES 2023 in Las Vegas, METL’s puncture-resistant tire is made of an elastic material called Nitinol+which is equipped SMART technology (Radial alloy technology with shape memory), first developed by NASA for his rover sent to Mars.
It is soft like rubber, but strong like titanium intelligent metal structure with shape memory, which rearranges its molecular structure when bent, but has the ability to instantly return to its original shape. The final tire is coated with a special polyrubber material that forms a tread with strong grip in all weather conditions.
According to The SMART Tire Company, this technology never deflates or needs air: so it eliminates the hassle of inflating, all with better handling and durability than a regular rubber tire. Indeed, this tire is able to last throughout the life of the bicycleand is not prone to leaks, tears or punctures.
