If Rimac was unknown to us a few years ago, the Croatian manufacturer made a powerful entry into the automotive sector these last years. In November 2021, Volkswagen announced that it would sell its Bugatti brand, which set the stage Rimac Group, 55% owned by Rimac and 45% by Porsche. The newly created group now includes the brands Bugatti, Rimac and Rimac Technologies (for research and development of new technologies).
Nevara, an electric hypercar of all classes
But it is above all release of its first hypercar model Nevarawhich propelled this previously small manufacturer, which emerged from the ground in 2009, onto the international stage. Introduced in August 2021, The Nevara is a 100% electric model made entirely of carbon fiber, capable of the craziest performances. With four-wheel drive and four electric motors, it develops a trifle 1914 horsepower at 2360 Nm of torque. At this speed, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds and can reach maximum speed 412 km/h ! Nevara will be produced in 150 copies, all customizableand, exclusivity requires, a price of more than two million euros (excluding taxes) will be displayed.
Rimac is IONITY’s charging partner
Today Rimac is announcing an exclusive offer for Nevara owners, at least in Europe: free charging throughout the IONITY network, and it’s been eight years! IONITY is a consortium consisting of Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Ford and Hyundai who joined forces to develop a network of fast charging stations across Europe. We count 450 stations in Europe or 2000 charging stations, and this in 24 countries. Like Tesla superchargers, IONITY terminals are known for their very high power: up to 350 kW at peak load (we still need a model to accept them). With only 150 Nevara sold, IONITY doesn’t take much risk, but offers a lot of advertising cheap!
