DS Automobiles stands out for its unique achievements, such as the DS 7 Élysée, designed for the President of the French Republic, in partnership with Welp group.
The two companies continue to cooperate on a new project: of DS 7 Vaubanwhich will be a armored version a French SUV equipped with its own hybrid engine with a capacity of 300 horsepower, which is produced in small series in France.
DS 7 Vauban: Made in France
Welp is a European specialist in special and armored vehicles. A few days ago, the grand opening of the enterprise took place new production site in Erimoncourt, in Du (25). It was in the cradle of the Peugeot brand that the company of German origin was created after acquiring the former industrial area of the PSA group (now Stellantis).
This factory will be used, in particular, to produce custom-made replicas DS 7 Vauban : this name is inspired by the twelve fortifications of Vauban, built at the end of the 17th century and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This special model will be based on the standard DS 7 equipped 300 horsepower E-Tense 4×4 hybrid engine.
Armored and reinforced version
Numerous modifications will be made to the production model to offer it a screening and strengthening to withstand the vagaries of their customers’ journeys. We will find certain elements in aramida class of light materials, especially resistant to shocks and heat, or even safety glazing. After that, the boosted car will reach a VPAM protection level 4.
L’interior will also be transformed under the supervision of saddlers to ensure a level of refinement that is in line with the DS Automobiles brand philosophy. with security settings new features will be offered, such as automatic fire extinguishers, closed circuit ventilation, a siren or even an intercom, and additional equipment related to comfort or adjustment : USB sockets, reading lamps, body colors, interior trim, embroidery, flag holders, etc.
The first samples of the DS 7 Vauban will be offered from this monthApril 2024.
