On the occasion of his event Kia EV Daythe South Korean manufacturer has introduced several new 100% electric models that will update the Kia lineup. If it was already presented a few months ago, now we know more about the technical characteristics of the new SUV Kia EV5.

Kia EV5 is based on E-GMP platform, dedicated to 100% electric models of the Korean group. In anticipation of the entry into the European market, Kia has revealed the first details about the versions that will soon be sold in China. Three variations will be offered: Standard, Long Range and Long Range AWD.

Kia EV5: 3 versions for all uses

The first version Standard will be equipped with a Battery 64 kWh and a Engine 218 horsepowerand will have a autonomy 530 km according to the Chinese CLTC cycle.

Version Great autonomy will be equipped with a battery 88 kW/hand the same Engine 218 horsepower : this is the model that offers the most autonomy, with up to 720 km with a one-time recharge.

This all-wheel drive version will have Autonomy 650 kmand his 88 kWh battery will be compatible with fast charging, which will allow you to restore 80% of the capacity in 27 minutes. V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) functions are also available for powering electrical devices to redistribute energy to the grid.

Numerous built-in technologies

The Kia EV5 battery is designed to perform efficiently all year round, whether the weather is extremely hot or cold. There will be many technologies such as a heat pump system Advanced, to manage battery temperature, guaranteeing constant performance regardless of external conditions.
